Philips Hue Not Connecting? 10 Easy Fixes
Quick Fix
Philips Hue not connecting? Restart the Hue Bridge: unplug it for 30 seconds, plug back in, wait for all three lights to be solid. Make sure your phone is on the same WiFi network as the bridge. In the Hue app, delete the bridge and re-add it if still not working.
Why Won’t Philips Hue Connect?
Hue connection issues occur due to bridge problems, network issues, bulb pairing failures, or app glitches. The bridge connects to your router via Ethernet and creates a Zigbee network for the bulbs – both connections must work.

- First light off: No power
- Second light off: No network connection
- Third light off: Not connected to internet

Method 4: Connect Phone to Same Network

FAQ
Why is my Hue bulb unreachable?
Unreachable means the bridge can’t communicate with the bulb. The bulb may be off at the switch, too far from bridge, or needs re-pairing. Try turning the light switch off/on, then search for lights in the app.
How far can Hue bulbs be from bridge?
Hue uses Zigbee mesh networking – each bulb extends the range. Typical range is 30-50 feet through walls. If bulbs are far from bridge, add bulbs in between to extend the mesh network.
Why won’t Hue work with my new router?
After changing routers, the Hue bridge needs to reconnect. Ensure ethernet cable goes to new router, restart the bridge, and make sure your phone is on the new WiFi network. You may need to re-add bridge in app.
